The Zen Cart software is upgraded periodically to add even more functionality and ease of use by the developers based on user needs and requests. By using a flexible template override system, upgrading a Zen Cart website between versions is usually done easily and without losing important information. I have been designing Zen Cart websites for clients for many years, and I am constantly amazed at each new version that comes out!
Because of its popularity, many programmers have developed easy to use modifications aka zen cart mods that extend the functionality of Zen Cart's already powerful programming! One of the things that I and my clients like about Zen Cart is the user-friendly admin control panel. I have clients that have very little internet knowledge and no html or php knowledge that are able to operate their Zen Cart websites with ease. Each client receives an easy to understand basic instruction manual on how to add products, put items on sale, add categories and more once their site is completed.
